COACH BLATZ, U18 BOYS FISNISH ON TOP

Coach Mike Blatz and the Century U18 Boys team closed out their season by winning the top flight of the U19 age group at the Potomac Memorial Day Tournament at the Maryland Soccerplex this past weekend.  The team kept a clean sheet for the entire weekend, outscoring their opponents 10-0 and defeating a physical Annandale United team in the final game.

The victory was bittersweet for the team, knowing that this is indeed the end of the road for a squad that has enjoyed much success since they began at Century as U9 players.  After the final game the boys hoisted Coach Blatz aloft in a show of respect and appreciation for a man that has dedicated so much time and energy to the team over the last 9 years, helping them develop as young men on and off the soccer pitch.  This is a tight knit group on the field, but the boys are even closer off the field having developed friendships and created memories that will last a lifetime.

The U18 Boys roster: Joseph Bell, Hayden Bernhardt, Steve Binnig, Tyler Chiste, Abe Kouyate, Josh Kruczek, Robbie Mertz, Justin Minda, Chris Ralph, Adam Richert, Jake Roberge, Shayne Sibley, Nick Sodini, Brandon Walbert, Collin Wurst.

Congratulations to Coach Blatz and the team!
