Hajnosz and Woods are United in Dreams and Goals

As they prepare for their upcoming journey to Costa Rica, Ava Hajnosz and Camryn Woods, both stalwarts of the 2009 GA team, share their thoughts and anticipations about representing not only their club but also their country on the ODP National Select Team.

Representing Century and the US is not something either of them are taking lightly. Ava said “This is a dream come true! It means so much to me to represent not only Century United but the United States on the ODP National Team. My coach, Randi Rohm, has guided me and continues to help me achieve my goals in soccer. Coach Randi and the other coaches in the club have encouraged me to be the best player I can be. I am honored to have this opportunity.” Camryn said “It means so much to me to represent Century with my teammate Ava. It is also such an honor to represent the US in Costa Rica because ever since I started ODP this has been a goal of mine. It is incredible for this to be happening.”

Traveling to Costa Rica to play soccer would be a great experience for anyone but both girls admitted that going with a familiar face is a bonus. Ava said “I'm so happy to be able to play on this team with a fellow Century teammate. Being able to play with Woodsy at this event shows the talent of our Century 2009 GA team. Coach Randi has taught us all so much. Camryn and I have this opportunity because of the grind and effort we put in on and off the field, not only on our own but with our 09 GA teammates. I am looking forward to sharing the field with Woodsy on the ODP National Team. It's going to be an unforgettable experience.” Camryn said “ It makes this experience even more meaningful because Ava and I have been working to get to this point together for years. Seeing all of our hard work pay off is so special. Having two of us make it from the same team is just a reflection of how strong of a team we can train with at Century. I'm extremely comfortable playing on the field with Ava, so that will make it much easier. Having her there will be a lot of fun.”

With the event a little less than a month away, both girls are looking forward to various opportunities from this experience. Ava said “  I am so excited to play! I can’t wait to get back on the field with my friends and teammates from the East Regional Team as well as my new teammates from all over the United States. It’s going to be so fun staying with the team and going on team excursions. I’m also really excited to get good soccer tan lines!” Camryn said “I am most looking forward to being able to play at a very high level. The competition will be incredible and challenge me as a player. This experience will help me grow as a player and a person. I will get to meet new people, and create bonds with players and coaches.”

While some may say both girls have reached the ultimate goal, both are eager to find success in various ways in Costa Rica while representing the red, white, and blue.

Ava said “The trip to Costa Rica will be successful if I play hard and use all the soccer knowledge/skills I’ve gained over the years. I know I am going to enjoy every minute.  I'm excited to see what I will learn from my new teammates and coaches. This is my first time going to Costa Rica and it’s cool I get to go do what I love most while I’m there.  Being a part of the ODP National Team is such a privilege and honor.  I cannot put into words how excited I am to be part of this group. Thank you to my parents and sisters, Coach Randi, my Century teammates, especially my twin sister Marina, and the club for helping me achieve my goals.”

Camryn said “The trip to Costa Rica will be most successful if I show my best self, and have fun with my team. I want to showcase my best qualities and help my team win. I am hoping to learn many new things and be better because of it. I want to take in as much knowledge as possible from this experience. “

As Ava and Camryn embark on this journey together, their bond as teammates and friends is evident. With their dedication and determination, they're ready to make their mark on the international stage, representing Century and the US with pride and passion.
