Ryan Moessner, Jr., F, Bentworth

Taking his teammates on a journey that began in Washington County and ended in Mechanicsburg, junior Ryan Moessner left the deepest footprint on the highest-scoring boys soccer team in the WPIAL.

An electric goal-scoring threat who racked up tallies by the bunches, Moessner scored 45 goals to lead Bentworth (22-1) to its second straight WPIAL Class A championship and a runner-up finish in the PIAA playoffs.

For his efforts, Moessner is the TribLive HSSN Boys Soccer Player of the Year.

Also the WPIAL Class A player of the year, Moessner and his fast-paced Bentworth teammates stacked up 128 goals and allowed only five in 23 games.

The Bearcats took a streak of 11 straight shutouts into the PIAA final, which they lost to Lancaster Mennonite, 1-0, in overtime, at Eagle View Middle School in Mechanicsburg.

Moessner will take 88 career goals into his senior season.
